KoRonna Johnson, BS

After spending over two decades in various roles in corporate finance, I experienced firsthand the signs of professional burnout: constant stress, and an erosion of quality of life, leaving me unfulfilled and relying on maladaptive coping tools. That journey led me to a career pivot, driven by this personal experience to help others avoid the same fate. As a second year student in the Master of Social Work (MSW) at Aurora University, my clinical areas of interest include providing support to adults who are struggling with. substance use and/or process addictions, anxiety, depression, and anyone who would like guidance in dealing with life transitions or pursuing career exploration/transitions. I also strive to empower anyone who is on a health & wellness journey, including pre- and post-bariatric patients. Last but not least, I hold a special place for adults who seek support for navigating quality of life/end of life decisions for their four-legged companions and when despite all interventions, a fur baby crosses the rainbow bridge, and the pet parent is left with to cope and process intense feelings from bereavement. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based approaches, I believe in tailoring therapeutic care to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. I aim to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. It would be an honor to join you on the road to recovery and healing.
